Our Team
-
Brian "Bam Bam" Polacek (2023 - )
Just like Barney Rubble’s son, Bam Bam can smash a baseball a country mile. He joined the club in 2023.
-
Brian "Big Red" Samulson (2020 - )
Big Red hit for a high average, finishing top 3 among qualified Quarrymen hitters in 2022. As you can see from his trading card, he has magnificent hitting form.

-
Ed "Cowboy" Novick (2022 - )
Cowboy joined the Quarrymen in 2022 as a walk-on between the first and second games of a double header. He first played organized baseball when he was 8 years old - a half century ago. He loves all things baseball and still plays in a men's 50+ league. He has also competed in the World Wiffle Ball Championship tournament for the past 6 years. Cowboy has a cowgirl and three children. In his free time he loves to watch Westerns and work on creative visual projects like producing his wife's YouTube cooking show.
-
Bill "Dutch" Hendrickson (2021 - )
Dutch is a defensive standout catcher. He charges up the team with his fearless play behind the plate.
-
Dan "ice Man" Connors (2017 - )
Ice Man is a cool cat at third base. He’s been hitting frozen ropes at the plate since he played his first match for the Q-Men in 2017.
-
Jeff "Javi" Moorhouse (2018 - )
The Q-Men’s lineup is more potent when Javi is in the clean-up spot. Since joining the team in 2018 he goes all out in the field and at the plate.
-
James "Jungle Jim" Lesnik (2021 - )
Jungle Jim plays with passion. He injured his thumb in 2023 and kept on playing.

A man of many nicknames, Master, is the elder statesmen of the Quarrymen. He’s been pitching for the team since 2009.
-
Bob "Mordecai" Goes (2012 - )
The perennial team MVP, Mordecai, strikes the ball long and hard. The lefty is a mainstay at first base. He also sets the lineup cards for the club.
-
Rob "Pipes" Panknin (2023 - )
New to the Quarrymen but not new to Vintage Base Ball. Pipes has played for the Elk Grove Bucks and the Chicago Salmon. He’s talented as a musician and a ball player.

Pitter Patter came to the Q-Men having played vintage ball in Tennessee. He had a successful first season with the Q-Men in 2024, hitting .508 with 14 aces scored and 10 batted in, in 15 games.
-
Rich "Sauce Nose" Kurek (2008 - )
A well-rounded ball player, Sauce Nose hits, throws, and fields at a top level. He’s an example of why you should pick your own nickname or we’ll pick it for you.
-
Mike "Shep" Bruno (2024 - )
Shep likes to keep it loose and yuk it up on the field but plays with passion when needed. He hit .542 in 24 at bats during his rookie season in 2024.
-
Jeff "Specs" Turnbull (2007 - )
Specs is the team’s ultimate utility man. On August 27, 2022, he went 9 for 9 with 3 aces and 2 RBIs to lead the club to two victories (7-4 and 15-14).
-
Mike "The Cure" Ciurej (2006 - )
